For new students I always recommend to have a 3-4 hour introductory lesson. This will help us to get to know each other and enables me to assess the student's skills.
As I’m not just singing scales up and down with my students, I need to know how much experience they have, what physical state they are in and what their individual strengths and weaknesses are.
I will use this initial assessment to set up a customized working schedule that will fit the student perfectly and will give us a solid base to work from in the following sessions.
If you are interested in an introductory lesson, please contact me.
Overall, the aim of my work is to give students a good foundation to have a long and vocally healthy career and to learn how to focus their energy at the task at hand.
I teach in English and German.
Main aspects of my work:
- Improving vocal range, breath control and dynamics skills.
- Teaching students how to protect their voices so that when they're recording or touring they can do shows and sessions every day without risking getting ill or damaging their voice.
- Performance and stage persona: How to handle yourself, be an engaging performer and feel comfortable in front of a crowd.
- Comfort zones - Song by song. This involves going through all songs the student is likely to record or perform and working on all aspects of them vocally to get them to the highest standard.
The key to making all of this happen is routine and regularity and including fitness and vocal exercising in the daily routine. I will provide a schedule to work from - also covering activities outside of session hours - which will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
